Dear Barrie,

Hope you are fine. I have been reading contents of your website since I started keeping budgies again,
and your website is very useful and informative for me sor far.

But I have recently encountered a problem which let me write to you for seeking advice.

I have 8 pairs of budgies. last week somebody stole my budgies.
I found in the morning that 5 pairs and three males were gone.
the problem is one of the female has 3 chicks which are only 1 week old.
My question is can female budgie raise these chicks
Should I introduce new male to her.
Or Should I hand feed the chicks

Please Advice

(Please ignore the mistakes in English as I am poor at english)

Thanks
Saad Shamim

Hi Barrie, I've got a problem with my one year old hen. She has been looking a bit off and hasn't been as talkative as usual. She's just had a major moult and when examining her this morning, I found a long lump (2cm) on her just around her breast bone.It looks like an ingrowing feather to me with blood vessels visible. It's not red but long white things appear in it. Does it sound like a feather cyst to you? What is the treatment? Should I take her to the (expensive) vet or just give it a bit of time first? Thanks for any advice you can give me.
