A catcher V net
I never did like catching birds with a net; I found this was stressful for the other birds in the aviary so i made my first stress free budgerigar catcher almost forty years ago.

Cut a disc out of 12mm ply five inches in diameter. Screw on a handle (just cut 5" off the end of a sweeping brush).then cut a length of twilweld nine inches long and the radius of the ply and tack it to the ply circle, fine wire or string will join the two cut ends of wire together.
Your aviary catcher can have a longer cylinder than one that would be better suited for use in the breeding cages.

The catcher is held in front of the chicks who then step inside, once they are inside have the handle facing upwards, the birds will climb up the wire and not down. They can then be removed by hand or just transfered to a cage whilst inside the catcher.Just tilt the handle down and they will step out.
Ideal for the one pet budgie or an aviary full.
