Pneumonia

Pneumonia is one of the most common causes of budgerigar disease,it is always fast and fatal.

A bird that looks healthy in the morning may be found dead later in the day.

What can you do ?

The bird must be isolated in the first instant in a very warm location. If the pneumonia is the result of a bacterial infection susceptible to antibiotic ,saving the bird is possible.

Your avian vet will not have time to run any tests on a bird with pneumonia as it will not survive long enough to get the results.

Good ventilation will prevent pneumonia ,check out now that the air in your breeding room is not stagnant.

Bronchitis, pneumonia and coryza are all respiratory diseases.Symptoms are sneezing, watery discharge from eyes and nostrils and depression.

Specific symptoms of bronchitis are wheezing and pneumonia would show a shortness of breath.
